"During my first home purchase, I was obviously inexperienced. I can't even remember what the agent looked like or what the person's name was - that's how memorable the experience was. I remember doing a lot of the work on my own. The agent never recommended that we get an inspection done, rather, the home owner walked me around and explained that the black hole in the ground that was leaking a dark fluid into the backyard was nothing to be alarmed about. It turned out to be a bad septic tank "D" box and I had to use almost all of the proceeds from the sale of the home when I sold it in order to have it fixed. The people that I sold to had an agent that recommended they get a licensed inspector. Agents must find out what the needs of their clients are and find a way to fill them."
