"The worst experience my husband and I ever had was a local real estate agent who only listened to our selling criteria to a point and then she stopped paying attention! We had indicated that we did not want to accept restrictive VA loans (FHA and Conventional only) because she had advised us of the seller fees that are not typical to other types of loans. Ultimately, because she wanted to "unload" our house, she "persuaded" us to accept a VA loan by indicating we would lose the house we wanted to contract on if we couldn't sell ours. Even up to the final closing table, we were being told of extraneous fees that we were responsible for at closing and she accepted little to no responsibility for failing to apprise us along the way. She never had our best interests in her mind, and needless to say we would never use her again. In fact, a referral can work in the opposite way - telling a home buyer whom NOT to use when in need of a real estate agent! In my opinion, the best individual to work with is always one who is sincere in what they offer and can do for you."
