'When purchasing my current home, my agent called me with our closing date. After that, I rarely heard from my agent or my lender unless I contacted them. Every time I did, supposedly things were all being handled and we were in good shape. We also had an amendment to our contract for some upgrades we did. We gave our notice at our apartment, packed up our belongings, took time off work to move, scheduled the moving truck, etc. I hadn't heard anything from the agent or the lender in awhile, so the day before our scheduled close date, I contacted our lender to make sure we were all set. Our lender had no idea we were supposed to close AND was not informed that we had an amendment to our contract and that our purchase price had changed. We did end up closing a week later than our original date but it was a huge inconvenience. I believe the agent and the lender are both at fault for the lack of communication on their part"
